Black friday…not so black
So i guess after fattening on some turkey and stuffing that it is now the custom to lose one’s mind and sit in some line in sub zero temperatures to try and get some so-called deals. i guess i am just lazy or just not as foolish. so here was the usua l $299 deal which is awesome but i for the system even i am not that cheap.
so the alternative was not to go the zoo, and go somewhere else which left staples and office depot because circuit city was just as much as a zoo as bestbuy, so in the end it was officeDepot. i guess that it wasnt all that bad to tell the truth, coz i got there at 545 a.m and sat in line till 6. luckily i was like the 59th out of 61 to get the toshiba deal for $400. It was a Toshiba with plenty of ram and a healthy drive, full complement of peripheral devices, and yes unfortunately loaded with vista. I suppose vista isnt as horrible as everyone says but again im tech literate. But it definately isnt linux so i will be going with ubuntu on top and vista on VMware to round everything off. To add to that i was out the store by 6:15 a.m and back in bed by 6:30 a.m.
By my calculation i figure that the extra 6 hours of sleep in my warm bed and, 15 minutes in line are worth every penny extra over the BestBuy deal. And to add to that it definitely wasnt a mad house.
I think the lesson here is…
Dn’t B Cheap even on the day when being cheap is acceptable!
